The horses of life buck us off. Our response can quickly be, however, true to the thought of the words of the Madonna song, Over and Over:
“It’s not the game it’s how you play,
And if I fall I get up again now.”
I don’t know how many other seventeen year olds were inspired by these words:
“It doesn’t matter who you are,
It’s what you do that takes you far,
And if at first you don’t succeed,
Here’s some advice that you should heed.”
Letting these words simply rest over the culmination of our most fatigued and wearying of days is the salt required to get us geared for the next.
The pure design of ‘the day’ is newness.
Come back to this truth again and again and we will quickly find the falsity of our tired and limited thinking will vanish for hope present in a God that cares for us, and for our resilience to rebound, over and over!
