We are more than our frustrations and more than our ambitions. We are more than our selfishness, and we are most certainly more than our limited perspective on life.
But the operative word here is “if”.
Whenever we feel drawn away from joy into a concentrated form of self-focus relating to what we’re not getting we miss the bolder reality. We are more than the smaller issue before us (that seems large), tempting us, right now.
And even after the temptation lands and we give it real estate in our minds and hearts, giving expression to it in the use of our hands, feet and lips, we can just as easily see, later on, that being duped is not the end of the world.
We are more than our bad stuff. Much more.
