Google “time warp” and there are several YouTube clips that show in super slow-motion a phenomenon that has become popular to our amazement.
We’re fascinated with such imagery — physical science explained frame-by-frame. Whether it’s water balloons busting on faces or bullets piercing apples or shredding crayons, we’re delighted to view physical truth.
What parallels can we make, here, regarding our spiritual growth?
The super slow-motion cameras filming our ‘progress’ would capture weeks as frames instead of thousandths-of-a-second.
Entering the spiritual time warp is a nano-slow-motion event. That is, spiritual growth is tracked myriads slower than even super slow-motion could handle.
This is why we need to be patient with ourselves.
Spiritual impatience is the devil’s tool, driven by a flesh-assisted pride to be somewhere (in our progress) beyond where God’s currently got us.
God’s not finished with us yet.
